Setting up MacPPP

 

Step One: We first need to select PPP or MacPPP from the Control Panel menu.

The following window should appear:

Step Two:

PPP Information:

In the Name field, you need to enter the username that you requested at signup. (making sure everything is lowercase with no spaces)

In the Password field, you need to enter the password that you requested at signup. (once again - making sure everything is lowercase with no spaces)

The Number is the local area dialup for your prefix - this should be supplied during signup.

Once you have all of the required information inserted, click the Options button, and you should receive a box similar to this:

Step Three:

Make sure that the Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications option is checked.

You can set the remainders options to whatever may suit your needs.

Once you have finished setting your preferences, press Ok to continue.

Step Four: Protocol Settings

Make sure that the Allow error correction and compression option is checked.

Also make sure that the Use TCP header compression option is checked.

Click the Ok button to close your settings box - and you have successfully set up MacPPP.
